2003 Harrow Growing Project

A 15 acre field of soybeans planted just west of Harrow was donated to the Canadian Foodgrains Bank (CFB).  This project was inspired and initiated by Karl & Sandy Neudorf who generously donated the land, time and equipment for this project.

On Sunday, May 18, 2003 CFB Coordinator for Ontario, David Mayberry, shared with our congregation in worship about the significance of such a project.  After a potluck lunch, the congregation headed to the project site for some brief words and a prayer of dedication.

Many people have generously donated products, time, equipment, and money.  CFB hats are available from the church for a donation.  Karl recently provided decorative stalks of wheat as a fundraiser as well.

On October 18, 2003, the soybean crop was harvested.  A total of 543  bushels came from this field, which works out to be a crop worth about $5000.  These beans were be donated to CFB along with over $1600 in cash donations.
